During his two years of articles at a reputable medium-sized law firm in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, our Managing Director and Founder, Ruben Healley, gained extensive experience in debt collection and general litigation in both the Lower and High Courts. In addition, he obtained valuable exposure to conveyancing work, including bank bond registrations and cancellations. His involvement on multiple bank panels for litigation, collections, and conveyancing enabled him to become thoroughly familiar with these processes, allowing him to develop proficiency across several diverse areas of law during his articles.​

Following his admission as an Attorney, Ruben’s entrepreneurial drive motivated him to further expand his expertise, particularly in commercial and insolvency law. He spent approximately five years as a professional assistant at another established medium-sized firm, during which time he built and managed his own practice and cultivated a strong client base.​

In September 2019, Ruben took the step toward establishing his own legal practice, leading to the formation of Ruben Lance Healley Incorporated. Six years later, the firm has evolved into a dynamic, client-centred practice built on a simple but powerful philosophy:
